Storm aka Ororo Munroe is one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel comics of all time, with her notable weather-manipulating abilities allowing her to leave a lasting impression on fans’ hearts as well. From those comic book pages to the big screen, the best person to have brought her to life till now was none other than Halle Berry in the X-Men live-action saga.
To say the least, Berry’s performance as Munroe has been so iconic that finding a replacement for her turned out to be brutally tough. That was until Lupita Nyong’o recently underwent one of the best transformations of her life as she channeled her inner Munroe for Halloween. If anything, this transition is so good that even Kevin Feige might beat himself up over it!
Lupita Nyong’o Proves She Could Perfectly Replace Halle Berry as Storm
Halloween’s spooky nights are turning a terrifying page in pretty much everyone’s lives, and Lupita Nyong’o made sure she was one of the people leaving others baffled at her unbelievable transformation. For this year’s All Hallows Eve, the 41-year-old actress took the changeover game to a whole other level as she transformed into the X-Men superhero Storm.
As seen in the photos shared on her Instagram handle @lupitanyongo, The Wild Robot actress really tried to look as comically accurate to the character as possible. Besides channeling the perfect Ororo Munroe energy and her iconic white tufts, Nyong’o really went all-in with the eyes as well, resulting in what might as well be called one of the best iterations of the mutant to date.
One of the posts featuring her as the respective character was comically captioned, *Employees must wash hands* — Marvel Management 🌩️ #StormAtWork #Storm #happyhalloween, giving fans hope of seeing her as Munroe.
Meanwhile, the other post had her sharing more insights into the night out she had with her friends on Halloween, captioning it as:⚡️STORM⚡️ No one rains on my Halloween parade!! 🧡🖤
Needless to say, her transition was so beyond epic that it has been garnering never-ending praise from fans worldwide as they express just how perfectly the Black Panther actress would fit into the X-Men universe in a reboot saga. If anything, it wouldn’t be an aggregation to say that we have found the perfect replacement for Halle Berry‘s Ororo Munroe in the MCU.
But as immaculately as she could transition into the respective weather-manipulating abilities wielding superhero for the live-action projects, this is also a headache for Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. This is because he has already brought Nyong’o on board as Nakia in the 2018 film, who transformed into a major character in the 2022 film Wakanda Forever.
That said, Feige doesn’t seem to have many options for bringing Nyong’o into the X-Men universe as Berry’s replacement for Munroe, unless he really racks his brains and ends up with a multiversal event that opens up the portal of possibilities for this to happen. Regardless, fans are as hyped by the actress’ iconic transformation as ever, finding it hard to stop praising her for the same.
Fans Are Gushing On and On in Praise for Lupita Nyong’o as Storm
If it was Nyong’o’s intention to leave everyone awe-struck by proving just how impeccably she can pull off whichever character she wants, it most certainly seems to have worked. This stands true after considering how fans can’t help but gush on and on in praise of how she should be cast as the next Ororo Munroe in the MCU, no matter what.
