ALLIANCE, Ohio (WKBN) – Springfield had their season end Friday as Dalton blanked the Tigers 25-0 in a Division VI, Regional 21 semifinal.
The Bulldogs (10-3) struck first at the 10:45 mark of the opening quarter on a 45-yard pass for a touchdown. The extra point was missed and Dalton had an early 6-0 lead. The remainder of the period was scoreless, as was the remainder of the half.
The Bulldogs increased their lead to 12-0 with 6:18 left in the third quarter on a 1-yard run. The extra point was no good.
Dalton scored twice in the fourth quarter on a 61-yard run and a fumble recovery for a score to increase their lead to 25-0, which is how the game ended.
The Bulldogs will advance to play the winner of #1 Kirtland vs. #4 Columbia in the Division VI, Region 21 playoffs.
Springfield ends the year at 10-3.
