SLIPPERY ROCK TWP., Pa. (WKBN) – Two people were flown by medical helicopter from a crash in Lawrence County Wednesday.
A report from the Pennsylvania State Police said the crash happened about 10:30 a.m. on US 422 near Fox Road.
The 59-year-old female driver of a 2019 Hyundai Sonata reportedly fell asleep while heading east on US 422, crossed the center line into the westbound lane and hit the 30-year-old female driver of a 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan, the report stated.
The extent of their injuries was not known or reported by police, but were considered serious. Both drivers were wearing safety belts.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
