Multiple people have been arrested after a large fight at a high school football game Friday night, officials said.
The incident occurred around 8:25 p.m., when officers working the Notre Dame High School v. Hillhouse High School football game at Veteran’s Field in West Haven observed some kids fighting by the field, police said. As the group got larger, officers requested the assistance of more officers to the scene.
The fight grew large enough where officers on scene called for mutual aid, according to police. Mutual aid departments were called from the University of New Haven, Milford Police Department, Orange Police Department and the Connecticut State Police to help assist.
Multiple arrests were made while officers were trying to break up the fights and remove kids from the scene, police said.
During the scuffle, several police officer sustained minor injuries.
