Drake curse hits again as rapper loses huge £280,000 bet on Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson

DRAKE saw his heavy losing streak continue after another failed bet before the blockbuster fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

The popular rapper lost a staggering $355,000 (£281,440) after betting on Tyson, 58, against his much younger opponent Paul, 27 on Friday.

However, the YouTuber defeated the legendary heavyweight via unanimous decision in a controversial fight that left many fans disappointed at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

Drake posted his bet online with the odds on Iron Mike being at 2.85, meaning he could have won a whopping $1,011,750 (£802,116).

This poses as yet another massive loss for the Canadian singer and songwriter.

The 38-year-old previously put down $1million (£790,000) for Argentina to beat France within 90 minutes at the 2022 World Cup final.

However, Lionel Messi and co let Drake down as they couldn’t get the job done across both halves and instead won 4-2 on penalties.

This is also the second time the artist gets it wrong with Paul as he placed $1.2m (£950,000) on the Problem Child to defeat Tommy Fury, who became the first person to beat the American last year.

Earlier this year, Drake placed $565,000 (£448,000) backing Tyson Fury to overcome Oleksandr Usyk, who ultimately ended the Gypsy King’s legendary undefeated streak.

To be fair, though, the singer did get major bets right in the past, such as back when he won $425,000 (£336,780) thanks to Alex Poatan beating UFC rival Jamahal Hill in April.

Drake wasn’t the only celebrity left red-faced after the fight as UFC legend Conor McGregor also saw a $1m double bet go down the drain.

The highly-anticipated bout, though, left others disappointed as well due to several issues.

The fight was shown live on Netflix but the streaming platform crashed multiple times before, during and after the undercard as well as the main event.

And thousands of fans in attendance walked out of the Dallas Cowboys’ famous ground without knowing who won.
