Christina Haack opened up about her breakup from “insecure” ex Josh Hall as she discussed her new reality series “The Flip Off.”
The HGTV star told Entertainment Tonight that it was difficult to film the new show with her now-estranged husband due to their working dynamic.
“When someone is insecure by you and doesn’t like to watch you win, that really puts a damper on everything,” claimed Haack, who has gone back to using her maiden name.
“I feel like I was not shining as bright, to try to not make him feel emasculated. But who wants to live like that?”
“It was not fun, to be honest,” she continued. “I did not enjoy filming with him, so having split up made this, to be honest, so much easier and so much better in every way.”
Haack filed for divorce in July after nearly three years of marriage. She has since accused her estranged husband of stealing money from her and her children amid their nasty legal battle.
Hall exited the series amid their divorce, with Haack admitting it “would have been hard to film” the show, which debuts in January 2025.
The series also features Haack’s ex-husband Tarek El Moussa and his wife, Heather El Moussa.
Haack claimed Hall showed signs of “jealousy” about her relationship with Tarek, with whom she shares two kids.
“Tarek and I have our own dynamic, and some could call it ‘flirty,’” she said, although she describes their relationship as a “sibling type of thing.”
Haack said she had been telling Tarek “things were bad” with Hall “for at least a year, probably 18 months.”
“At the beginning, she was going through it, you know, but she recovers really quick,” Tarek told Entertainment Tonight of Haack after the split.
“You can just tell, her energy’s back. She’s happy. She’s excited about life, she’s doing good.”
