JACKSON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A bond was set for a Jackson County man charged with murder after he reportedly shot his neighbor in a dispute, according to documents.
On Nov. 14, court documents show that Daniel Lambert appeared in court for his Aniah’s Law hearing.
In the hearing, Lambert was granted a bond of $200,000. Other conditions of his bond are that he cannot leave the state, possess a firearm or be in the presence of anyone who does and he is to be on house arrest without an electronic bracelet.
The court document said s warrant could be issued for Lambert’s arrest if he is in violation of any of the conditions of his bond.
On Nov. 16, documents show that the court granted a continuance of the preliminary hearing set for Nov. 27.
On Nov. 5, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a shooting on a private drive located off of County Road 12 in the Hollytree community around 3:09 p.m.
When deputies arrived, they found 47-year-old Douglas Cooner dead on the scene.
CSO told News 19 that Daniel Lambert, 57, of Hollytree, was arrested and charged with murder for the shooting death of Cooner.
Deputies added that a dispute between Lambert and Cooner led to the shooting.
