TAMPA, Florida (WKBN) – Youngstown native Troy Hill was promoted to the active roster by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Hill was signed to Tampa Bay’s practice squad 19 days ago and is currently in his 10th season in the National Football League.
He started the season Carolina Panthers but was released in October. He has played in 119 career regular-season games, with nine interceptions, three pick-sixes and 41 passes defensed.
In addition to the Carolina Panthers, Hill previously spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Rams, and Cleveland Browns.
He originally signed with the Bengals in 2015 as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon.
To create a spot for Hill on the 53-man roster, the Buccaneers waived safety Kaevon Merriweather.
