HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Toney Volunteer Fire Department (TVFD) says one person is in critical condition after a car caught fire after a wreck on Carter’s Gin Road.
TVFD President Heath Jones said the department responded to a single-vehicle wreck where the vehicle had caught on fire in the 1100 block of Carter’s Gin road at around 4:04 p.m. Monday.
Jones said the occupant of the vehicle was able to get out before the crews arrived but was considered to be in critical condition and transported by HEMSI to a local hospital.
He said once crews were on the scene they began fire suppression and were able to extinguish the vehicle quickly.
The president said Huntsville Fire and the Huntsville Police Department also responded to the incident.
