Top 5 Plays of Week 12: Bobbling and spectacular catches highlight

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — We have already passed Week 12 as the Valley only has a few select team remaining in the high school football playoffs.

Many Valley players had performances to put their teams on top in our Top Five Plays of Week 12.

Play No. 5: West Holmes vs. East Liverpool. Potter’s Gavin Wright throws on fourth down to Blake Adkins for a 28-yard touchdown. However — East Liverpool falls, 24-13, and ends the season at (7-5).

Play No. 4: Warren Harding vs. Austintown Fitch in WKBN’s Game of the Week. Fitch’s Junie Higgs rushes for a 48-yard touchdown run. Higgs rushed for three touchdowns in the Falcons win. Fitch wins, 42-21, and advances to play Walsh Jesuit.

Play No. 3: Sharpsville vs. Farrell in WKBN’s Game of the Week. Farrell’s Aaron Pegues throws to Zameere Thomas, who catches the ball over the defender for a 32-yard touchdown. Farrell wins, 28-18, to advance to play Central Clarion.

Play No. 2: Girard vs. South Range. Girard is on fourth down as Dominic Tolone throws to Will Hynes, who catches the bobbling ball and races to the end zone for a 73-yard touchdown. Girard’s efforts aren’t enough, losing to South Range, 49-30. Girard ends the season at 7-5.

Play No. 1: Cambridge Springs vs. Greenville. First, Greenville’s Nick Solderich throws a short pass to Justin Schell, who breaks two tackles for a long touchdown reception. Next, Solderich throws another short pass to Schell, who makes a contested catch and runs for a 69-yard touchdown. Greenville wins, 27-26, and advances to the District 10 Final against Wilmington. Schell catches three touchdowns in the victory to earn our Top Play of Week 12.
