BERLIN CENTER, Ohio (WKBN) – Western Reserve won two playoff games, a year ago, to close out the season with a sectional title and 11-wins.
This season, the Blue Devils must replace the contributions of Luke Henning, Brock Wellman and Andrew Hendricks. Western Reserve has five returning letter winners in Dominic Ricciardi, Josh Klasic, Connor Cochran, Hunter Stacy and Peyton Hartzell. Look for newcomers – Jackson Young, Gavin Thake, Jack Darney, Nico Paris and Aiden Romine – to all add to the success of the program.
Coach Joe Serensky points to, “As every year, we expect to compete for a league title, and taking the next step and getting to the district championship [game].”
On November 30, the season gets underway with Reserve making the trek to Smithville.
“We always stress defense and this year’s no different,” Serensky says. “The guys really bought into the defense this summer working on technique and principles, but we do also have some guys looking to have a breakout season this on offense.”
