Officers were dispatched to Hartford Hospital around 2:47 p.m. on Tuesday on a report of a vehicle arriving with multiple gunshot victims, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert of the Hartford Police Department.

Officers learned that three victims were suffering from gunshot wounds. A 20-year-old woman, identified Jessiah Mercado of Springfield, Massachusetts, and her 4-month-old son, identified as Messiah Diaz, were pronounced dead at the hospital, Boisvert said. The third victim, a man in his 20s, was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, according to Boisvert.
