AIDEN McGEADY has only been retired for a month – but he’s already got plenty to keep him busy.
And the Celtic hero has revealed that he’s tempted to go down one particular route after being asked to do some work for a former Parkhead team-mate.

That man is Shaun Maloney – with the Wigan manager asking him to do some scouting for him.
McGeady, who is also completing his A licence, told the ‘Let’s be Frank’ podcast with Frank McAvennie: “I’ve been quite busy as well, doing odd bits of media, and helping Shaun Maonley at Wigan.
“I’ve been doing a bit of recruitment, kind of part time.
“Going to a watch players and giving my opinion on players is part of football that I’m passionate about and maybe a route I might fancy going down.

“Listen I’ve been busy finishing my A licence and doing lots of different things, I’m doing a course with the FA as well.”
McGeady worked in an unusual dual role at final club Ayr United which saw him combine playing duties with a technical director role.
But he hadn’t featured for the Ayr first team since April – with another Hoops legend in Scott Brown taking the team in another direction.
McGeady said: “It was a strange one. We were mates at Celtic. We got on well and played together for a long time.
“As everything happens in football you lose contact with people then we reconnected at Ayr.
“With Scott, in terms of his playing squad, he wanted certain things from it that I don’t think he thought that I could bring him.
“Quality and stuff was never in question, how I was as a footballer it was more running stats, distance covered in games.
“Everybody is their own man, that is his management style and he wants to go down that route.
“That is how he sees his team playing, it is entirely fine.
“In terms of the other stuff whenever I wanted to do anything, like coaching or taking things after training. There was never any problem with that.
“Listen, it was fine. It didn’t end the way I wanted it to end but football very rarely does.”
