A man and a woman from Virginia were arrested on Thursday on outstanding warrants in connection with residential burglaries in Farmington and Avon earlier this year.
The two suspects, identified as 32-year-old Misael Agustin De La Colina Palomino and 27-year-old Alexandria Ninoska Bravo Valencia, both of Alexandria, Virginia, were wanted in connection with an attempted residential burglary that occurred in Farmington on May 7 in the area of Mountain Spring Road, according to the Farmington Police Department.
On May 7, officers responded to a Farmington residence when the homeowner called 911 after hearing a window break at the back of the home. As officers checked the residence, they observed a broken window with a damaged screen, police said. No suspects were located in the home at that time, according to police.
Following a lengthy investigation in partnership with the Avon Police Department, the two suspects were developed and arrest warrants were issued for Palomino and Valencia, Farmington police said.
Palomino and Valencia also had warrants outstanding from the Avon Police Department for similar crimes in the area of the Farmington and Avon town line.
Both suspects were located by the Avon Police Department and ultimately brought to Hartford Superior Court where they were arrested via habeas.
Palomino faces conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary and criminal attempt at first-degree burglary charges in connection with the attempted Farmington burglary, and Valencia is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary.
The Farmington Police Department has identified additional suspects and are expect to make more arrests in the future, the department said.
