A 68-year-old pedestrian was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while walking on Route 44 in Putnam on Saturday evening.
Troopers responded to motor vehicle vs. pedestrian crash around 6 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Connecticut State Police.
State police said Leo Blaine of Putnam was walking along Route 44 when he was struck by a Ford Fusion driven by a 58-year-old woman from Webster, Massachusetts that was traveling westbound.
Blain was transported to Day Kimball Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to state police.
State police said the Ford driver did not appear to be injured but was transported by EMS to Day Kimball Hospital for an evaluation.
