Scots rock legend reveals he once turned down movie sex scene with Madonna

JIM Kerr has revealed he once turned down a movie sex scene with Madonna – because he didn’t want to take his trousers off on camera.

The Simple Minds frontman was offered a major role in the Oscar-winning flick Evita alongside the US singer starring as Argentina’s tragic first lady Eva Peron.

But Jim, 65, took cold feet at having to strip on the set of the 1996 film directed by Brit filmmaker Alan Parker.

In an interview airing tomorrow on Greatest Hits Radio Scotland, Jim says: “I’ve not been in a movie, but I was nearly in a movie once.

“I was offered a role in that Madonna, Eva Peron thing, Evita, by the director Alan.

“There was a short scene and he wanted me to play.

“I thought he was kidding on – having a laugh.

“And at the time of course Madonna was a big deal and all that, but I had to take my trousers off and Madonna’s there.”

Asked to elaborate by breakfast show hosts Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey, Jim adds: “I didn’t say that right.

“I had to take my trousers off and they weren’t paying me enough.”

Cat then asks: “So you knocked back getting jiggy with Eva Peron?”

Jim, who was married to Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde and actress Patsy Kensit, confirms: “Aye, basically.”

And it went on to scoop a host of international awards including Best Picture Golden Globe and an Oscar for original song.

The full Jim Kerr interview can be heard on Ewen & Cat at Breakfast from 6am tomorrow morning.
