I’M A Celebrity’s damp camp has been infested by rats and toads after a week of heavy rain.
They have mainly been detected running around the Aussie jungle at night, while the stars snooze.
But BBC Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough has spotted rodents scurrying across the ground.
On Saturday’s episode, he pleaded to switch beds with McFly’s Danny Jones so he could kip away from the critters.
A source said: “The recent bad rainy weather has seen more toads and rats than normal in camp.
“Generally, they tend to come out more at night.
“The celebs will be delighted that the sun has finally started to shine again.”
The ITV1 reality show has started hotting up – with latecomers Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles joining up with the main camp after living in the Jungle Junkyard.
On last night’s episode, former Love Islander Maura, 33, and ex-pop star Richard, 62, had to tackle six grim courses each in the Terrifying Teddy Bear Picnic – the series’ first eating challenge.
Maura faced snacks including a goat’s testicle, cow teats and bull’s penis.
Richard gagged on blended fermented herring.
They had already bagged six portions of burgers and hot dogs for campmates by keeping up the charade of living in squalor in the Jungle Junkyard.
As the ten other celebs watched and laughed, the pair won the remaining six portions for a slap-up junk food buffet.
And The Sun on Sunday revealed that Wag Coleen Rooney, 38, is set for a surprise visit from her youngest sons – Kit, eight, and Cass, six.
The mother of four is expecting a jungle visit from only her mum in a “friends and families” episode.
Friends and relatives of stars were sneaked into camp in last year’s show for the first time since 2018 — but insiders say Coleen would be expecting to see only her mum.
A source said: “Everyone knows how much Coleen loves her boys, and it would be one of the most heart-warming moments of the series.
“It’s a really special part of the show, and there’s no doubt Coleen would be a blubbering mess — as would the millions of viewers watching at home. It’s going to be such a surprise for her.”
Coleen, wife of former Manchester United and England ace Wayne, is wearing a necklace with their four sons’ names and touches it on screen to let them know she is thinking of them
