Harris wheels out JLo to slam Trump over speaker’s Puerto Rico jibe after Dems gloss over Biden’s ‘garbage voters’ gaffe

KAMALA Harris deployed Jennifer Lopez at her latest rally in a last-ditch attempt to slam her rivals and ignore Joe Biden’s latest gaffe.

The president-hopeful took to the stage at the Craig Ranch Amphitheater in Las Vegas on Thursday as the gruelling race for the White House enters its final days.

Before Harris made her entrance, JLo made her debut on the campaign trail to slam Donald Trump over comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s comments about Puerto Rico at his rally.

Hinchcliffe, who has aligned himself with Trump and his MAGA campaign, caused fury at the rally in Madison Square Garden on Sunday when he referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.”

JLo, who has Puerto Rican parents, rallied the room of Democratic supporters on Thursday and claimed that Hinchcliffe’s comments “reminded us who he [Trump] really is and what he really feels.”

“It wasn’t just Puerto Ricans who were offended that day, it was every Latino in this county, it was humanity and anyone of decent character.”

During her speech, the 55-year-old singer claimed she is “a lover” and was not on stage to “trash anyone or bring anyone down” before calling Trump “the worst adversary America has ever had.”

However, the Trump campaign clarified that the Republican candidate did not make the comments himself and that Hinchcliffe’s joke “does not reflect the views of President Trump or the campaign.”

BACKTRACK

While the Democrats used JLo to hit out at their rivals, Harris’ campaign glossed over Joe Biden’s latest gaffe in which he called all Trump supporters “garbage.”

The president made the scathing comment during a call with the Hispanic get-out-the-vote effort Voto Latino on Tuesday, where he referred to Hinchcliffe’s joke.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” the 81-year-old said.

In a desperate attempt to backtrack on what the President said, the Democrats painted the comment as a grammatical error by issuing what some have claimed is an edited interview transcript.

Biden calls Trump supporters ‘garbage’

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporter’s — his — his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable, and it’s un-American,” the transcript wrote.

By adding an apostrophe to the word “supporters,” the White House made out that the 81-year-old called Hinchcliffe “garbage” and did not mean all Trump supporters.

“The President referred to the hateful rhetoric at the Madison Square Garden rally as ‘garbage,’” White House spokesman Andrew Bates added in a statement.

Biden also took to X to backtrack on his comments as the final days heading to the election show a neck-and-neck race between the two candidates.

“Earlier today I referred to the hateful rhetoric about Puerto Rico spewed by Trump’s supporter at his Madison Square Garden rally as garbage—which is the only word I can think of to describe it,” he wrote.

“His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I meant to say.”

Meanwhile, Harris scrambled to restore her campaign by saying she “strongly disagrees with any criticism of people based on who they vote for,” adding that Biden had clarified his comments to her.

‘DISGRACE’

However, Trump and his team were quick to use the latest Biden error to their advantage by mocking the president at a rally in Wisconsin as early voters took to the ballot boxes.

The Republican donned a high-vis jacket and rode in a garbage truck to the rally while speaking to reporters from the driver’s seat.

The sanitation vehicle plastered with Trump 2024 banners and stickers was rolled out just 24 hours after Biden’s comment.

Trump called the “garbage” remarks from the president “a disgrace” and continued to wear the orange visibility vest during the rally.

With just three days left until Americans cast their votes, each public appearance and comment could prove fatal to either campaign as the majority of polls show Harris and Trump neck and neck.

There is a difference of just 1% between the two candidates in many polls such as the one currently being reported by The New York Times.

Harris has a national polling average of 49% while Trump is close behind at 48%.

As the race nears the end, one TV station sparked numerous conspiracy theories after incorrectly airing a result of the election declaring Harris as the winner in a key state.

Meanwhile, The Sun has previously reported on how long it could take for the winner to be announced after it took five days in 2020.
