MERCER, Pa. (WKBN) — A Grove City teenager is facing rape charges following a report of an incident in June.
According to a criminal complaint, a teenage girl accused Hunter McElroy, 18, of raping her at Memorial Park in Grove City.
The girl said she had been with McElroy and another person at the park, and when the other person left, McElroy asked her to sit in the back of his vehicle so they could talk. Once there, she said McElroy pushed her down and held her down, while she tried to push him off of her.
The girl said McElroy then raped her and told her not to tell anyone.
She said she didn’t initially report the rape because she was confused and scared about what happened.
Police questioned McElroy and said he gave conflicting statements about what had happened but later admitted to forcing himself on the girl and said he admitted to knowing what he did was wrong but that he acted out of “uncontrolled sexual arousal,” the complaint stated.
McElroy is charged with rape, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, indecent assault and open lewdness. He is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
