A thanks for Clean Energy Week in Alabama: op-ed

This is a guest opinion

As a young conservative, I am thrilled to see Governor Kay Ivey declare September 23-27, 2024, as Clean Energy Week in Alabama.

The governor’s proclamation acknowledges the immense economic benefits that Alabama’s clean energy industry brings to the state from growing the economy to creating jobs to producing affordable, reliable and clean energy for our residents.

The clean energy sector has created over 44,000 jobs in Alabama, and clean and readily abundant forms of energy are powering more homes and businesses than ever before.

Young conservatives like me know that advancing clean energy innovation and empowering American producers is the key to reducing global emissions while bolstering our energy security and generating new revenue streams.

I applaud Governor Ivey for her commitment to fostering a cleaner, more resilient energy economy in the state of Alabama. As we celebrate Clean Energy Week, let’s continue to encourage policies and initiatives that drive cutting-edge innovation, produce more American-made clean energy and ensure a healthy environment for younger generations.
