A Mobile man won a family trip to Hawaii and other prizes after eating at Chipotle for 1,000 consecutive days, a quest he documented on social media for hundreds of thousands of followers.
Dillon Wareham shared his 1,000th day of Chipotle on Instagram and TikTok on Monday. He went with his standard order: A burrito bowl with double chicken, white rice, easy on the salsa, lots of cheese, a little lettuce and a side of guacamole.
Not much else about the meal was routine, however. According to Chipotle, the company held a celebration at the Mobile store at Airport Boulevard and Schillinger Road, covering meals for his friends and family. According to the company he also received “an all-expenses paid trip to Hawaii for him and his family as well as several branded gifts.”
“My family and I will be headed to Hawaii first thing tomorrow morning,” Wareham told his viewers.
About a month ago, Wareham also received something he’d been coveting for more than three years: One of the chain’s famed VIP cards, also known as a celebrity card or a burrito card. According to the terms of a recent giveaway contest, cardholders can use the card to claim one free meal per day for a year.
Speaking to AL.com around his 500th consecutive day, Wareham said that he’d had to overcome a few challenges along the way. The biggest was when his family went on a cruise and he had to sneak a few days’ worth of Chipotle bowls on board in his luggage.
“I’m a very determined person,” said Wareham.
