Alabama player prop picks vs. Georgia: Bet the over or under on Jalen Milroe?

Alabama player prop picks vs. Georgia: Bet the over or under on Jalen Milroe?

One of the most highly-anticipated games of the college football season is already here. Alabama and Georgia go head-to-head Saturday for the first time since their epic clash at last year’s SEC Championship.

Alabama has a talented quarterback in Jalen Milroe. Will he exceed expectations Saturday or fall short in the biggest game so far this season?

Jalen Milroe’s performance prediction against Georgia

Milroe simply continues to improve. Coming off a dominant performance over Wisconsin, he appears to be in top form leading into Saturday’s pivotal matchup.

Milroe’s success does not come without help. Alabama has a tremendous offensive line, which has succeeded in giving their QB the time necessary to make deep throws.

If that offensive line can maintain their poise, Milroe will be a dangerous force against the Bulldogs on Saturday.

In his last game against Georgia in 2023, Milroe threw for 192 yards with two touchdowns. His improvement since that time is apparent.

Expect him to look for big throws deep downfield often in this game.

Does that mean Alabama will come out on top? Not necessarily. Carson Beck is a world-class quarterback in his own right, and Georgia’s defense has looked great as of late.

Milroe will come to play on Saturday, however, and certainly won’t make things easy for the Bulldogs.

Additional Alabama player props to consider

  • Germie Bernard over 3.5 receptions: -102 odds at FanDuel
  • Jam Miller over 50 rushing yards: -135 odds at DraftKings

Alabama has a roster stacked with talent from top to bottom. There is no doubt that most eyes will be on the quarterbacks this weekend.

Several other players also will need to come prepared, however, if the Crimson Tide wants another win over the Bulldogs.

WR Germie Bernard is certainly a player to keep an eye on.

Bernard transferred to Alabama after stints with the Michigan State Spartans and Washington Huskies.

In Alabama’s thrashing of Wisconsin, he picked up three receptions and one touchdown.

Expect to see Bernard making catches Saturday, too. Milroe will be looking for him in the red zone, and 3.5 catches over four quarters seems very realistic in this matchup.

RB Jam Miller will be another important player for Alabama. He’s a talented running back who has scored at least one touchdown in each game so far this season.

Will he be as effective Saturday against Alabama?

Much depends on how the Alabama defense decides to play. Choosing to lay back and prevent big throws from Milroe could allow Miller to break through the line and pick up yards.

If Alabama chooses to stay tight and pressure inside, Miller’s offense could be rendered ineffective.

Miller has not picked up less than 50 yards so far this season. It seems likely that he will manage to surpass that number once again Saturday.

Alabama vs. Georgia: What you need to know

Alabama and Georgia have been engaged in a fierce rivalry that goes back decades. They are set to clash again Saturday in one of the more difficult games to predict so far this season.

Historically speaking, Alabama has the upper hand in this series. It boasts a 43-26-4 record against the Bulldogs that includes a win in the 2023 SEC Championship.

Georgia is looking for revenge.

The team’s defense is among the best in college football right now. The Bulldogs assuredly will rely on that defense to stop the Crimson Tide from gaining yards and putting points on the board.

Alabama will use its new offensive mindset under Kalen DeBoer to pressure Georgia early and often.

Which team will come out on top? College football fans around the country are busy debating the answer.

This game represents a unique clash of styles. Alabama will look for Milroe to make big passes downfield.

The team is likely to want an early lead and it has succeeded in doing that in each game so far this season.

Georgia may attempt to play a more tactical game.

It has a very strong defense and has not given up more than 12 points in a single game this season. Having Carson Beck as a starting quarterback means the Bulldogs can score points at any time, too.
