A 19-year-old was killed in a single-vehicle crash north of Semmes early Sunday morning, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
ALEA says the accident occurred just after 4 a.m. Sunday on Alabama 217, about four miles north of Semmes, in Mobile County. A 2022 Hyundai Sonata left the roadway, struck two culverts and overturned.
The victim, 19-year-old Jonah T. Smith of Chunchula, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, according to ALEA.
Smith was transported to University Hospital in Mobile, where he later died.
ALEA says the crash remains under investigation.
