AN American rock icon has announced his first Scottish show in almost 25 years.
The star, known as The Godfather of Punk, catapulted to fame after his stint in the rock band, The Stooges, back in 1969.
Now Iggy Pop, 77, has announced two UK shows in Glasgow and London next year.
He is known for hits such as Lust for Life, The Passenger, Real Wild Child, and I Wanna Be Your Slave.
Iggy’s last performance in Glasgow was in 2004 at the city’s Download Festival in Glasgow Green.
An announcement on social media read: “With a career spanning over five decades, punk icon Iggy Pop will play unmissable shows at London’s Alexandra Palace and O2 Academy Glasgow next year.
“Grab tickets for London in our Live Nation pre-sale this Thursday, November 7 at 9am.
“Glasgow tickets are on sale this Friday, November 8 at 9am!”
Excited fans flocked to the comments to react to the announcement.
One wrote: “It’s been a while but you’re so welcome, Iggy Pop.”
Another said: “Yas! Welcome back to Glasgow.”
A third added: “Oh man it’s been a while, Download 2004 with The Stooges!”
A fourth commented: “Can’t wait!”
A fifth weighed in: “Woo hoo! Cannot wait.”
Iggy will take to the stage at Glasgow’s O2 Academy on Tuesday, June 3 2025.
Iggy previously revealed the surprising way he relaxes off stage.
He said: “I like baths, sometimes with a rubber duck and bubbles – yeah definitely bubbles.”
The punk icon made the revelation at a listening party at Cannes Film Festival, hosted by Magnum, adding: “Sometimes I get really upset if it’s getting late in the day and I think to myself that I haven’t done anything I really like.
“And music is what gives me pleasure you know, well music and the sea.
