Andrew Garfield had a receding hairline for the most of last decade. Starting somewhere in 2020, his hair showed significant growth and experts suggested that it was not naturally possible. Some hair experts shared that Garfield might have undergone a surgical hair transplant to achieve his new look. His recent red carpet pics from the We Live In Time premiere almost confirm fan suspicions about the hair.
While fans were swooning over the actor’s “new” hair, other fans came to defend him and share that he looked hot in his old hair as well. Garfield’s performances in recent films have received critical acclaim and his appearance would rarely make any difference in his acting skills.
Andrew Garfield Is Hot, With The Hair Transplant Or Not
Andrew Garfield‘s recent appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home and other films post-2020 clearly showed that he had done something with his hair. Fans speculated that he may have undergone a hair transplant procedure. While the Hacksaw Ridge actor never openly spoke about his hair, some hair experts pointed out the obvious evidence.
One of the first roles of the actor in films was Sugar Rush, where he sported long hair that probably covered his receding hairline. According to Hair Palace UK, Garfield’s hair loss was particularly visible in The Social Network. The outlet reported that the condition of his hair would only progressively worsen, with the widow’s peak becoming more and more pronounced.
The idea of getting a surgical implant for the actor made sense, since both his father and brother had suffered hair losses. In 2021, his temples were almost filled and his hair was distributed evenly. According to the report, it was impossible to achieve this kind of hair transformation with non-surgical methods.
His hair transplant came to the discussion when a fan randomly shared that his pics from his recent film’s red carpet made him look hot due to the transplant. Earlier, the Reddit forum r/Fauxmoi also saw a similar discussion.
The hair transplant really does make him look thirty like woah. https://t.co/OuN6bRnJcL

One of the fans mentioned his earlier appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where the host made a joke out of his brother’s baldness. While Garfield defended his brother, fans shared that Garfield needed help with his hairline. However, the fan shared that the actor is hot both ways. Some of the fan comments read:
He was on Colbert a while ago and his dad and brother were there (& both fully bald, Colbert made a joke about it) so it makes sense he’d need some help with the hairline….he is still hot both ways tho

It’s amazing how much something like that can affect a appearance, especially his hair transplant 😄

I’m surprised, I looked him up before the transplant, and yes, he did what he had to do…

According to Hair Palace’s report, Garfield most likely used a Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) procedure. It involves the removal of individual follicles from the donor area and transplanting them into balding or thinning areas.
Andrew Garfield Defended His Brother’s Appearance On The Late Show
Andrew Garfield’s brother and father were in attendance among the audience when he appeared on Stephen Colbert‘s The Late Show. When he was asked to point out his brother from the crowd, Colbert immediately noticed his fully bald head. He asked about the age difference between the brothers. When Garfield shared that his brother was three years older, the host jokingly shared that it was three rough years for the brother.
He shared that he wouldn’t have picked Benjamin Garfield out of the crowd as the Silence actor’s brother. Garfield joked that he had his mother’s genes while his brother got his father’s. However, he shared that Benjamin was a pulmonary doctor and had been saving people’s lives during the pandemic. This revelation got his brother a standing ovation from the studio audience. Garfield shared on The Late Show:
I got my mother’s genes. My brother got my father’s. My brother is a doctor, and I’m merely an actor, so there’s a good reason for him to have lost all his hair. He’s a pulmonary doctor. He’s a lung doctor. So for the last two years, this mother hubbard has been saving people’s lives.
Garfield’s most recent project is Jack Crowley’s We Live In Time. In the film, Garfield’s Tobias and Florence Pugh‘s Almut run into each other in a bizarre coincidence and they begin exploring love. The couple is put through challenging times when Almut gets diagnosed with cancer.
The film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday. A24 has scheduled it for limited theatrical release in the US on October 11, 2024.
