Attack on Titan, based on the bestselling manga of Hajime Isayama, has been a worldwide phenomenon since it was first released. Still, this latest announcement of Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK movie raised questions regarding whether it would be able to give the fandom a theatre-worthy movie experience without feeling sluggish.
It’s a risky attempt that can disappoint many loyal viewers who would feel they are being strung along by repititive content with minimal new substance. It is now somewhat fair to say that Attack on Titan has become all for its popularity, and not necessarily for its stories anymore.
They Are Just Milking Attack on Titan at This Point
Attack on Titan is truly an unparalleled storytelling class from beginning to end, even though it clearly did not get the ending some fans wished it would get. It came out of the gate with such a ridiculously engaging storyline that also managed to strike a chord with audiences on a deep emotional level, making it a sensation that captured the eyes of the world and will for many years to come.
However, this is where many fans will agree that the series indeed peaked in Season 3, Part 2, after which it started losing momentum. The change of studio from Wit Studio to MAPPA was highly noticeable, with the new studio forcing rushed pacing and uncalled splits into the storyline due to its highly constrained schedule.
Now, with the announcement of Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK remake movie, it has only heightened feelings that the series is being exploited for its popularity. Instead of adding anything worthwhile, and most possibly just rehashing previously existing material across various platforms shows a shameless attempt to milk the series for money. This move risks tarnishing the legacy of Isayama’s original work, alienating loyal fans who crave authenticity, not cash grabs.
Social Media is Filled With Mixed Fan Reactions
Social media is literally filled with mixed reactions from fans over this latest announcement regarding the remake movie of the Attack on Titan series. Some are over the moon, ready to see their cherished series reach an end on the big screen, but others mention their disappointment that the franchise is getting over-stretched.
The air is certainly filled with hype, as excited fans will be ready to see their favorite characters and storylines in a whole new light.
However, between that excitement, there also comes a variety of inevitable memes and jokes about its extended lifetime, ensuring that making fun of it will just continue to get extended and rehashed.

The new trailer for this movie has also been out, and there seems to be nothing new in it, meaning the ending will remain the same!

Still, the majority of fans hope that the movie will add at least something new to actually make it worth going to the cinema houses. On our part, as fans, we want a bit more than just a rehash of already released materials, we want something worthy to add more rationale meaning to the story’s actual ending. For now, we can only hope that the movie lives up to its name and meets the expectations.
