When the Auburn Tigers take the field vs. the New Mexico Lobos on Saturday night from Jordan-Hare Stadium, they’ll do so without the gem of their 2024 recruiting class as freshman receiver Cam Coleman doesn’t appear available for action.
When Auburn players took the field for pregame warmups with just less than 90 minutes until kickoff, Coleman was in street clothes.
Coleman’s availability was up in the air coming into Saturday’s homecoming matchup after the freshman pass catcher injured his shoulder late in last week’s game vs. Cal.
Later that evening during Auburn’s Tiger Talk radio show, Freeze downgraded Coleman’s status to “doubtful,” adding that Coleman had suffered a grade II shoulder sprain against the Golden Bears.
Through two games, the former five-star wide receiver prospect has recorded four catches for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Other injury notes
- Auburn kicker Alex McPherson is set to miss Saturday’s game as he continues to recover from a gastrointestinal illness. McPherson was seen kicking some during warmups, but wasn’t dressed.
- Auburn offensive lineman Izavion Miller will also miss Saturday’s game vs. New Mexico as he continues to recover from a hip injury.
