Auburn men’s basketball to host charity exhibition against FAU

Auburn men’s basketball will have its first unofficial action of the season in a Nov. 1 charity exhibition game against FAU, the school announced Thursday.

All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Melton Scholars Program, a program launched in 2023 to increase access for and support underrepresented students at Auburn.

“I would like to thank the NCAA for their wisdom and willingness to support this game,” head coach Bruce Pearl said in the release. “We are going to make a tremendous impact.”

FAU reached the NCAA tournament in each of the last two seasons, making it to the Final Four in 2023. Head coach Dusty May left the program following the 2023-2024 season, though, along with many of the team’s top players.

John Jakus was hired during the offseason to replace May after previously holding various assistant coach roles at Baylor since 2012.

Tickets for the game will be sold separately from the men’s basketball season ticket package, but season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase their seat locations for the exhibition.

According to the release, information on the purchase process and deadline will be communicated soon and remaining inventory will go on sale to the public in early October.
