Baldur’s Gate 3 Fans Can Rejoice as Larian Studios Reveal They Are Not Done With the GOTY 2023 Title Yet, Clarifying That the Recent Patch 7 Is ‘Not the Final Update’

Baldur’s Gate 3 was a massive triumph for Larian Studios and the gaming community fell in love with the game the moment it started. The game is receiving continuous post-launch support from the developers which is a promising notion from the studio as they acknowledge the significance of this game and how it resonated with the gaming community. The developers confirmed that the latest patch will not be the last and promised one highly-demanded feature is on the way.

It is rare for a game to get support after being released for more than a year. Larian Studios made a promise, and the developers intend to deliver it regardless of how long it would take.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Will Receive More Support Beyond Patch 7

The game was praised for all the right reasons and it deserved every nomination and award since then. Director Swen Vincke loved working on Baldur’s Gate 3 and the resounding success would have easily seduced other game developers to milk the franchise for everything it is worth with new story expansions or sequels; however, Vincke is not a fan of the idea of turning his passion project as a cash cow and neither did his colleagues.

Larian Studios conceptualized a few ideas for future content in the form of DLCs; fortunately, Vincke ultimately decided as a game developer to leave it as it is and avoid the risk of tarnishing the game by overstaying its welcome any longer. The lack of an expansion gave the studio enough time to shift its focus on other pressing matters like delivering the promise of crossplay, and the recent statement suggests it is coming sooner rather than later.

Game development is not for the faint of heart and takes time to perfect. Rather than delivering a half-baked update, Larian Studios wanted to give the game the respect it deserves by working on high-quality content. The patch notes affirmed that the game will soon include a photo mode which will please the virtual photography community to take their passion into this project and share the insane graphical fidelity and visuals of the project.

Fans will be relieved to know more support is coming for the game and it shows the developers have a vested interest to help reach the full potential of this project. Future updates will likely feature the highly-requested crossplay feature across the PlayStation and Xbox player base. Different platforms with access to the game will bolster the active daily player count for the better.

Other fans prefer not to talk about what these future updates will offer to avoid adding more pressure on the developers. The base game was off to a great start and Larian Studios will do everything to avoid losing the momentum built.

Updating an already great game is a sign of growth and potential. Vincke wanted to provide a great experience, and the studio formally acknowledged the benefits of mods and provided an extension for the PC player base to easily download mods to elevate their gaming experience making local co-ops much smoother.

The game is a love letter to those who grew up playing Dungeons and Dragons. Talent is overflowing in all departments, especially with Neil Newbon’s performance as Astorian Ancunin. Neil did all the motion capture and lent his voice for the character which secured him last year’s Best Performance award during The Game Awards.

Neil Newbon’s success in Baldur’s Gate 3 did not inflate his ego after being seen sharing a hug with his friend and colleague, Yuri Lowenthal, better known as Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man, during the red carpet of the BAFTA Games Awards. Both actors were battling for Best Performance but remained friendly all through out The Game Awards.

More content means more opportunities. Fans will be encouraged to play even longer.

Larian Studios knows how to honor the game without taking risks. Hopefully, crossplay will come much sooner.
