Bay Area may see rain amid cooler temperatures on Sunday, Monday

Following last week’s warm weather, the Bay Area can expect a slight cooldown and even a chance of rain early next week as fall conditions creep closer.

Across the Bay Area, temperatures will remain warm on Saturday but begin to cool down Sunday, said Dial Hoang, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. There is a small chance of rain late Sunday and into Monday, he added.

“Any rain that does fall will be light,” Hoang said. “We’re only looking at a few hundreths of an inch at most across the Bay Area.”

In San Jose, Saturday is forecast to see “pretty warm” temperatures into the low 80s on Saturday that will then cool down to the low 70s on Sunday, Hoang added. Sunday night has about a 10% chance of rain, which will increase to 30% to 40% on Monday.

In Oakland, a high of 74 degrees on Saturday will be followed by a high of only 68 on Sunday, with similar chances of rain as those in San Jose, Hoang said.

Further inland, the Pleasanton and Livermore area can expect hot temperatures on Saturday, with an anticipated high of 87 degrees. But that will be tempered by a high of only 72 on Sunday with low chances of rain on Sunday night and Monday.
