YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — A bench trial for a man accused of three counts of rape in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court is now finished.
Leonard Sykes, 51, went on trial Tuesday before Judge Anthony Donofrio on three first-degree felony counts of rape.
The trial took a break Wednesday and finished Thursday.
Judge Donofrio has yet to render a verdict. A court spokeswoman said a date will be selected shortly for the verdict to be announced.
Sykes was indicted in November 2022 by a grand jury following a September arrest.
The crimes he is charged with happened in August 2022, according to court records.
Sykes has been in the county jail since he was initially arrested.
