Big Ed, Who is Nearly a Millionaire, Didn’t Even Spend a Penny to Propose to a Fan For His 4th Engagement

Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump once said “Love is like a box of chocolates—you never know what you’re gonna get. Well, in the case of 90 Day Fiancé star Edward ‘Big Ed’ Brown, the man seems to have an uncanny knack for picking the most unorthodox chocolates in the box.

This reality TV veteran, at the age of 59, has once again thrown caution to the wind and gotten engaged for the fourth time following a romance that lasted a mere 24 hours. And if that hasn’t given you enough to chew on, his proposal to Porscha Raemond included a paper-clip borrowed from a restaurant manager at a sandwich shop in Plantation, Florida.

Big Ed Finds Love for the Fourth Time with Porscha Raemond?

It seems that Big Ed is determined to prove that love can be found in the most unexpected places—and apparently, in the most unconventional ways. This time around, he’s announced his engagement to Porscha Raemond, marking his fourth romantic commitment in a rather unique twist of fate (via TMZ).

The couple’s story began at Capriotti’s, a sandwich shop in Plantation, Florida. Ed was there for a “Big Ed Meet & Greet,” and who knew that a casual visit to a shop would turn into a full-blown love affair? According to the reality TV star, the meeting was nothing short of serendipitous. He told Page Six:

I met her at Capriotti’s in Plantation on Friday where I was doing a Big Ed Meet & Greet. They serve the most delicious subs I have ever tried and everyone should know you could meet the next love of your life there!

It seems that a great sandwich might just be the secret ingredient to romance. Their instant connection was described as “love at first bite”.

Ed’s proposal was equally offbeat. During a dinner at YOLO in Fort Lauderdale, he popped the question with a ring fashioned from a paper-clip! Yes, you read that right—a paperclip. While it might sound like something out of a quirky rom-com, sources have confirmed that this engagement is “definitely real” (via TMZ).

Let’s take a brief look back at Ed’s relationship history. Before his latest engagement, he was married to Sandra Heckman, with whom he had a daughter. Their marriage ended in 1992 (per TMZ’s report). His subsequent relationships have also captured public attention. His first high-profile appearance was on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, where his romance with Rose Vega encountered numerous challenges, leading to their split.

He later appeared on 90 Day: The Single Life, where he met Liz Woods. Their relationship was marked by multiple breakups and reconciliations, ultimately ending in separation. Now, with his fourth engagement underway, here’s hoping Ed and Raemond’s love story defies the odds and lasts.

Big Ed’s leap into the limelight began with his memorable appearance on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days in 2020. From that point on, he became a household name, featuring in several franchise spin-offs like 90 Day: The Single Life and 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? His unique personality and unforgettable moments made him a TV staple, opening the floodgates to various income opportunities.

So, just how does Ed make his money? According to The Cinemaholic, this star is sitting pretty with an estimated net worth of $800,000. He has also cashed in on Cameo, where fans can pay to get personalized messages from their favorite reality star. In a now-deleted Reddit post, a former employee spilled the beans that Ed pocketed a jaw-dropping $634,000 from Cameo, after the company took its cut (via Showbiz Cheat Sheet).

However, Ed’s financial journey hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Despite his impressive net worth, which is nearly a million, he’s faced financial struggles. He’s had to file for bankruptcy twice—first in 2004, with a debt of $133,827.30, and again in 2017, with a whopping $185,704owed (per The Things).

In addition to his TV, Ed continues to flex his influencer muscles on social media. With over 590K followers on Instagram, he’s partnered with various companies for sponsored posts and promotional content.

So there you have it—his financial journey is as colorful as his TV appearances!
