BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — If you’re hoping to dive into the holiday spirit, the Christmas Cafe in Boardman is preparing for its first-ever Christmas Day in business.
The festive cafe spreads cheer all year long, but it’s getting more attention than ever with the holidays drawing near. Founder and owner April Mason says this time of year is more exciting.
“This is our first Christmas, and I’ve got to say, it’s beautiful and also overwhelming. It’s one of those things where people are coming from New York. We’ve had people come from Canada, Chicago, California. So, we’re prepared,” she said. “It’s so wonderful that this vision actually came to life.”
Mason said they stay busy year-round because people are Christmas enthusiasts. However, with recent high demands, online reservations are now required on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Mason is proud to provide the Valley with a festive and nostalgic atmosphere.
“It feels a little more magical right now because of the anticipation of Christmas, and we’re right on it. So, you can tell when people walk in here, they’re like ‘Oh my God, I feel the Christmas Spirit,'” Mason said.
The cafe opened in January this year, just in time for those who were missing the holiday season. Earlier in November, the cafe opened a new addition called Santa’s Workshop.
“We had out gathering of friends sip and paint. It was a sold-out event because we now opened Santa’s Workshop. We have the ugly sweater party coming in December,” Mason said.
True to its name, the cafe will be open from 4 to 9 p.m. on Christmas Day. It’s located on California Avenue.
