BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — A local church is celebrating nearly a century of service in the Valley.
Good Hope Lutheran Church marked 95 years on Sunday with a service themed “Celebrating our legacy with faith for the future.” After service, dozens of people stayed for dinner.
Pastor Robert Quaintance says the church is rooted in faith and serving the community, hoping to continue that tradition.
“Throughout our history, we’ve had many challenges in our church. This congregation and laypeople and pastors have risen to the occasion and have overcome those challenges and been a vibrant place to help children come to know the Lord and to reach out and serve the community,” Quaintance said.
The church is involved with the Second Harvest Food Bank, has a food pantry and has a bin for Toys for Tots.
