BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Friday night is the high school football playoff match-up between South Range and Poland, and a rematch from the regular season.
The game will be hosted at Boardman High School’s stadium, keeping this championship match-up close to the Valley.
If you want to go in person, tickets can be purchased online or from ticket sellers. Adults are $11 and students are $5.
There will be designated parking spots for $5. Guides will start parking cars at 5 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Boardman Athletic Director Jeff Hammerton says a couple hundred presale tickets have already been bought.
“Police sergeant from the Boardman Police, Chuck Hillman, he — as soon as he knew we had the game — he made a call to me and he was in here Monday morning, and we organized the police that will be at the game. So we normally have eight officers at our games and they’ll be here for Friday night,” Hammerton said.
He says they’ve been working to get everything ready for the game.
“After both teams had won and the scores were posted, they said, ‘You know, we are considering, Boardman — would you be able to do it?’ And, of course, I said yes. And then they call you Saturday morning, first thing in the morning, and say, ‘OK, the game is yours,'” Hammerton said. “It’s been an exciting week, for sure, to host such a big football game.”
Boardman will have concessions available to accommodate a large crowd as well.
Friday night’s winner will play in the Division V State Semifinal — advancing to the final four.
WKBN will be streaming the game live on WKBN.com and in the WKBN app. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
