ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A Boaz man was arrested on a theft of property charge after authorities say that he stole a horse.
According to the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, a theft investigation was started after a horse was stolen from George Johnson Road.
ECSO said that Investigators learned of the incident after the owner reported that the horse was missing.
Upon further investigation, investigators identified the suspect as Jonathan Ross, 42, of Boaz.
The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office said that Ross was arrested on Wednesday and transported to the the Etowah County Detention Center.
Ross was charged with theft of property-2nd for the theft of livestock. He was issued a $2,500 bond.
“Theft of property, particularly livestock, is a serious matter. This type of crime not only causes financial loss but also disrupts the lives of our citizens who depend on these animals for recreation and companionship. We are grateful for the tips and information provided by local residents, which played a role in the swift resolution of this case.”
