BRENDAN Rodgers jokingly predicted that Celtic should face Bayern Munich in the Champions League final – but bookies reckon there’s more chance of Elvis being found ALIVE.
The jubilant Parkhead boss couldn’t resist the the quip after his side found themselves second top of the new-look UEFA Champions League table behind the German giants after the first round of matches.

The Celts thrashed competition debutants Slovan Bratislava 5-1 at home on Wednesday night, just 24 hours after Bayern crushed hapless Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in Munich.
After the match, cheeky Rodgers said: “Yeah the competition stops now, we play Bayern Munich in the final!”
But not even the most optimistic Hoops supporter reckons that will happen, despite watching their side record their first ever opening group stage win while also smashing the record for their biggest victory margin in the competition.
And the betting markets will take even more convincing, with some sites coming up with a list of madcap events which they believe are more likely to happen than Rodgers’ dream final.

Experts at sportscasting.com/uk are offering 1000/1 on the Hoops lining up against Harry Kane and co when the final comes round in Munich next May.
They think it’s twice as likely that Scott Brown will become the next Rangers manager or Elon Musk to be the US President – both valued at 500/1 along with Elvis Pressley being found alive.
They also think there’s a better chance of Aliens invading earth than there is of Celtic not only going all the way, but avoiding Bayern in the knockout stages up until then.
Spokesman Andy Newton said: “Brendan Rodgers will absolutely buzzing when he made his comment and obviously was having a bit of fun, but realistically the chances of that actually happening are almost zero, for lots of reasons.
“Not only would Celtic have to overcome the elite of European football to get there, but the various knockout draws would also have to keep the two teams apart.
“So the odds are pretty astronomical.
“To be honest we don’t really expect earth to be invaded by aliens either, or Elvis being found alive for that matter.
“But it’s a strange old world we live in and football, as they say, is a funny old game.”
