COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Ohio State-Michigan week is here and for the fourth consecutive year, the Buckeyes will be ranked ahead of the Wolverines for the game.
Ohio State (10-1, 7-1) remains ranked No. 2 in both the Associated Press poll and USA Today coaches poll after ending Indiana’s unbeaten run on Saturday with a dominant 38-15 win in Columbus. The Wolverines (6-5, 4-4) have been way outside the rankings for much of the season but clinched bowl eligibility Saturday with a 50-6 win over Northwestern.
While this is the fourth straight season the Buckeyes are ranked No. 2 against Michigan, Saturday’s noon kickoff will mark the first time in seven years a ranked Buckeyes team faces an unranked Wolverines squad.
Week 13 of college football descended into chaos with seven ranked teams losing. Indiana, Alabama, Mississippi, Texas A&M, BYU, Army, and Colorado all lost Saturday and saw their playoff chances falter or vanish.

The Buckeyes will likely keep their No. 2 ranking in the College Football Playoff poll on Tuesday before playing Michigan. The bracket will have the most changes it has had after all the upsets from Week 13.
Using the Week 14 rankings, the Buckeyes would host Arizona State in a first round playoff game on Dec. 20 or Dec. 21. The winner would face No. 4 seed Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl on New Year’s Eve.
