WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Warren man has been charged in connection to a drive-by shooting in Warren where another man was shot in the temple.
Officers were called just before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday to a house in the 2400 block of Hamtion St. SW on reports of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man sitting in the living room holding a towel to a gunshot wound on his temple.
Witnesses at the house said that an argument between a family member at the house and another man over a woman culminated with a suspect driving by the house and firing several shots. In all, 27 shell casings from a 9mm gun were found at the scene, according to a police report.
One of the bullets traveled through the house and a TV before hitting the victim in the head. The victim was not the person engaged in the argument with the suspect.
The victim was taken to the St. Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
Police also found several bullet holes in the vacant house next door.
According to court records, a felonious assault charge was filed against 19-year-old Kenneth Clauss, II, in connection to the incident. A warrant was issued for his arrest.
