The use of sleeping pills among young people has never been so high. This is evident from a new youth survey by the Flemish expertise centre for Alcohol and other Drugs (VAD). For example, one in five girls – between 12 and 18 years old – has used sleeping pills. This is a significant increase compared to 10 years ago and worries experts because it is addictive.
