The Austrians loaned the 20-year-old last season and he featured 21 times as a left-back for the Bundesliga side.

But they’ve also managed to pick up Hoops’ fringe youngster Summers too – and proudly boasted they’d taken ‘Two Celtic talents to the Southern City’ on social media.

Summers spent all season with Dunfermline last term despite making the first team breakthrough under Ange Postecoglou 18 months ago and signing a new deal befoe heading to Fife.

But his season at the Pars ended early with a back issue in April and he returned for rehab at Lennoxtown over the summer.

Now, rather than play out this coming campaign on the fringes of Brendan Rodgers‘ team and in the B squad he opted to move out and sample life in Modling – a few miles south of the capital city Vienna.

The Hoops have already seen Rocco Vata and Daniel Kelly – both from the same youth squads – head out to Watford and Millwall respectively rather than fight it out for a first-team place.

It appears the Championship sides are not alone in scouting Scotland for young talent.

Wolves moved for St Mirren‘s Ethan Sutherland on transfer deadline day and Arsenal and Nottingham Forest are also said to be on the hunt in the William Hill Championship.

According to Football Scotland the Gunners and Forest – who have ex-Rangers technical director Ross Wilson at the helm – watched Ayr United teen Dylan Watret at the weekend.

Scouts from a number of clubs checked in at Somerset Park for the SPFL Challenge Trophy match with Raith Rovers – whihc was also Neil Collins’ first match as Rovers boss.

And it’s said the star in the spotlight was Scott Brown‘s 17-year-old full-back.

He’s played seven times already this season and faced Celtic in this summer’s pre-season friendly to open the Honest Men‘s new stand.

However it’s also reported “a number of Scottish Premiership clubs” are also monitoring the defender who made his senior debut just 70 days after his 16th birthday.
