The clip shows McAvoy posting pictures of the Celtic players arriving to the club’s X account, before pumping his fist and exclaiming “‘Mon the Hoops!”

And fans took to the replies to praise the video and McAvoy himself.

One supporter commented: “Was not expecting to see him.”

Another replied: “My school mate James! Great guy, what a character I tell you.”

A third said: “Sub him on when we are 6-0 up for a laugh.”

A fourth simply said: “What a man!!”

Celtic have named an unchanged starting XI from their 2-0 win over Hearts at the weekend to face Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava.

Meanwhile, two Celtic heroes are believed to be in the running to be named the new St Johnstone manager – although neither are favourites.

Saints parted company with Craig Levein after four defeats from their first five league games of the season.

And former Celts captain Scott Brown and current Hoops assistant John Kennedy are both understood to be contenders to replace the ex-Hearts man.

However, Gambling.com have Falkirk boss John McGlynn down as the leader in the race for the role.
