Center Greens Park has turned a largely unused lawn space next to the Downtown Anaheim Community Center and City Hall into a place of play.

Spending about $6.5 million, the city added a skatepark, basketball court, obstacle course and fitness trail. There are walking paths and a shaded plaza, as well as a butterfly garden.

The work was funded with state and federal grants as well as city money.

Previously in 2022, a playground was built by the Anaheim Ducks and Kaboom! The 4,300-square-foot play area has all kinds of fun features including a climbing wall and zip line.

The completed 3.5-acre Center Greens Park was debuted to the community over the weekend.
