Chipotle Mexican Grill brings back smoked brisket – Orange County Register

Chipotle Mexican Grill has brought back what it calls its top requested menu item, smoked brisket, for the first time after a nearly three-year absence.

The Newport Beach-based chain describes the beef as seared on a plancha and seasoned with peppers, hand-chopped and finished with a spicy sauce.

Chipotle tested it in late 2020 in two markets, Sacramento and Cincinnati, before introducing it nationwide in September 2021.

Chipotle considers the brisket premium, meaning it costs more than its other proteins, which are in the $10-$12 range. A check of locations throughout Southern California on the Chipotle app found smoked brisket prices ranging between $13 and $14 for burritos, burrito bowls, salads and tacos. Quesadillas, which can only be ordered digitally, cost a little more.

But from Thursday, Sept. 12 through Sept. 29, Chipotle is offering free delivery on smoked brisket orders throughout the United States and Canada. Orders must be on Chipotle’s website or through its app.
