COMEDIAN Al Murray has been left furious after vandals smashed through the back window of his car and stole his pub landlord outfit.
The 56-year-old funnyman shared what had happened on social media, posting an image of his boot window smashed in with glass everywhere.
Al penned: “Congratulations to the thief who will soon be dressing up as the Pub Landlord.”
The theft happened in Brentford, West London, and Al revealed that the car didn’t belong to him, but was in fact a hire car.
He also tagged the Met Police in his post to X.
Al is known for his pub landlord attire, which consists of white shirts with red jackets.
And he humorously added that there will be “a “whole gang of Landlord scrotes” after they stole his landlord outfits.
Fans of Al’s were quick to share their thoughts, as one said: “Sorry to hear it. Hopefully it’ll all be found in a plastic bag behind a toilet somewhere like when my notes were stolen at uni. There’s only one word in this case…”
A second wrote: “Hang on… You mean the pub landlord is a character!”
Al’s vandalism nightmare is not the first time he’s had issues.
A stalker who spent years harassing him was banned from his shows a few years back.
Lucy Bird sent the Pub Landlord star bizarre gifts and tried to get backstage — distressing him so much that her picture was circulated to staff at venues.
She also sent him unsettling Facebook messages, “wrecking” his experience with social media, Northampton magistrates’ court heard.
Bird said she had pictures of his children and posted one, telling him: “I know where you live.”
Murray said: “I felt pestering me was one thing but targeting my family was completely wrong.”
Bird, of Flore, Northants, also targeted other people with false claims.
She admitted harassment and stalking and was handed a suspended 16-week jail term plus a ban on attending Murray shows for four years.
There’s no suggestion that Bird was involved in this latest incident.
