Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze at a single-family home in Hamden on Sunday.
Crews responded to the home on Country Hills Road just before 3:30 p.m. and began an aggressive interior attack upon finding heavy smoke and fire conditions, according to the Hamden Police Department.
Crews also searched the residence and ensured all of the occupants were out of the home, fire officials said. A second alarm was activated based on the dry conditions and exposure concerns.
Firefighters from the New Haven and North Haven Fire Departments provided station coverage while Hamden crews battled the blaze, fire officials said.
The Hamden Community Emergency Response Team and the American Red Cross provided assistance to the homeowners as well as to the firefighters, according to officials.
The fire remains under investigation by the Hamden Fire Marshal’s Office.
