A high school student was killed over the weekend after the dirt bike he was riding was involved in a head-on crash with a sedan in Suffield.
The crash was reported around 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Copper Hill Road and Woods Hollow Drive, according to the Suffield Police Department.
Police said they believe a teen on a dirt bike was headed south along Copper Hill Road when he was involved in a collision with a car heading in the opposite direction. The crash is believed to have occurred in the southbound lane, according to police.
Police said the dirt bike operator was killed following the collision. The victim’s identity has not been released.
According to Suffield Police Capt. Robert Palmer, the victim was a freshman at Suffield High School.
The crash remains under investigation.
