CT man accused of doing motorcycle stunts caught after posting video

A man faces charges for allegedly driving recklessly on a motorcycle in South Windsor over the summer, doing wheelies, burnouts and other dangerous stunts before speeding off from police.

Michael A. Dolnick, 24, of Enfield was arrested over the weekend after investigators were able to identify him using his Instagram account and help from neighboring police departments, according to the South Windsor Police Department. He faces charges of engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, failure to drive right, no passing zone and violation of a traffic control signal.

Police said the charges stem from an incident on Aug. 31 when officers received reports of two motorcyclists driving erratically on Sullivan Avenue. According to police, they were doing wheelies, burnouts, passing other drivers and running red lights.

Two officers who responded to the area tried to pull the motorcyclists over, but they sped off, police said.

South Windsor investigators later learned that Dolnick had allegedly done similar things in area towns. They also examined his Instagram account, where he posted a video of himself driving recklessly on his motorcycle just prior to entering South Windsor on Route 30 from Manchester, corroborating the reckless driving reports, police said.

Dolnick turned himself in after investigators obtained a warrant for his arrest. He was released on a $2,500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Dec. 2.
