A Shelton man has been charged in connection with a fatal drug overdose.
Daniel Reid, 38, of Shelton was arrested Friday and accused of selling narcotics to someone just before they overdosed on May 26, according to the Shelton Police Department.
Police said detectives who investigated the death were able to tie Reid to the fatal overdose.
During the investigation, detectives obtained warrants to search Reid’s residence and his vehicle, seizing narcotics, a semi-automatic gun with no serial number and ammunition, according to police.
Reid faces charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, criminal possession of a firearm, illegal alteration of firearm identification, criminal possession of ammunition and possession of weapons in a motor vehicle.
Following his arrest, Reid was held on a $300,000 bond and was expected to be arraigned in Derby Superior Court later in the day.
