Less than a month after closing, an “iconic landmark” of the Birmingham area is on the market.
Wesley’s Boobie Trap, located on U.S. 78 in Sumiton, is for sale for $400,000.
Jasper realtor Alexis Stewart is listing the property for Joseph Carter Realty.
“This well-known gentleman’s club is for sale,” the listing reads. “The infamous Wesley’s is situated on a corner lot with +/-200 feet road frontage on Hwy 78, +/- 100 feet on Warrior Jasper Rd and only 6 minutes from I-22! Tables, chairs, bar, stage, etc. will remain (dancers not included) call today!”
The well-known establishment announced back in August that it was closing for vacation.
“We regret any inconvenience caused,” the announcement read. “We have decided to take some much-needed and overdue vacation time. We will see you all soon. Please keep an eye out for our reopening announcement.”
Stewart said the owners are “ready to retire.”
“We’ve had serious interest in it, with serious buyers,” she said. “Now whether they want to carry on the legacy, I don’t know.”
Wesley’s Boobie Trap is enough of a landmark to have received a shout-out from James Spann during storm coverage in 2020. Because of this, some social media users made sure Spann knew about the listing.
“I’m not sure it’s a good thing people think of me when they see this post,” Spann wrote as he shared the listing.
The listing did not go unnoticed on social media. Redditor thinkdarrell remarked, “‘dancers not included’ kills the deal.”
PhilthyphilDance wrote, “As a Dora native. That thing will be bought and still house toothless strippers. lol no one worry.”
Paul Dienach commented, “They should all dance extra hard, then pool their money to buy it themselves. What a story that would make! I’d watch that movie.”
On Facebook, Barron Elam said, “Pretty sure it wouldn’t be the first ‘private showing’ in that building.”
